Bruschetta

Bruschetta dates back to ancient Rome, where people rubbed garlic and olive oil onto toasted bread as a way to taste freshly pressed olive oil. The name comes from the Italian verb bruscare, meaning “to roast over coals,” and the classic tomato topping became popular much later.
